The incumbent Member of Parliament for Akyem Swedru, Hon. Kennedy Osei Nyarko has promised to work together with the other contenders retain the seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7 elections.
While 28 incumbent MP lost their seats during the NPP parliamentary primaries over the weekend, Hon. Kennedy Osei Nyarko however was lucky enough to retain his Akyem Swedru when faced two other opponents.
In a hotly contested elections against two candidates, the three-term MP got 196 votes.
Speaking in an interview on Adom FM morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Kennedy Nyarko revealed that following his victory on Saturday, 27, his two other contenders called him individually to congratulate him.
According to him, he is ever determined to work with them to retain the seat for NPP in the upcoming December 7 polls.

The NPP primaries saw 28 incumbent MP who were booted out over the weekend in shocking defeats.
And one of those MPs is Yves NII NOI Hanson-Nortey who failed to retain his seat in the Tema Central constituency.
Speaking in an interview on Adom FM on Dawso Nsem morning show, Mr. Hanson-Nortey cited poor communication and inadequate publicity contributed to his shocking defeat to his contender.
According to him, he failed to project the developments he has brought to his constituency prior to the NPP parliamentary primaries over the weekend.
“To be honest, it is poor communication and inadequate publicity that caused my defeat because when I went round I failed to publicize the projects I brought to my constituency. When it comes to work I have done a lot in the past 2 years, “ Mr. Hanson-Nortey said.
He went on to mention some of the developmental projects he has done in Tema Central, however, he claimed that a lot of the residents did not know.
Meanwhile, Yves NII NOI Hanson-Nortey has promised to support Mr Charles Forson who unseated him over the weekend during the primaries.
