Sarah Adwoa Safo, the current member of parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has lost the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primary, which took place on Saturday, January 27.

Adwoa Safo scored 328, but Mike Oquaye Jr., the CEO of the Free Zones Authority, polled over 1194, and she lost. With just about 100 votes, Sheela Oppong Sakyi, the third candidate, finished third.

Adwoa Safo, Dr. Mike Oquaye, and Sheela Oppong Sakyi engaged in a fierce three-way contest in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency. The NPP members in the constituency faced a pivotal moment during the primary.

It was clear from the tallying of the votes that the majority of party members had decided to install a new representative.

Dr. Mike Oquaye prevailed, with Adwoa Safo and Sheela Oppong Sakyi trailing in his wake.

Renowned for his service and contributions, Dr. Oquaye conveyed his appreciation for the party members’ support. He acknowledged the difficulties encountered during the campaign in a succinct statement and promised to put in great effort to allay the worries of the Dome-Kwabenya populace.

Adwoa Safo, the MP for Dome-Kwabenya since 2013, lost, which represents a dramatic change in the political climate in the constituency.

Earlier on, Adwoa Safo served NPP delegates in her constituency with breakfast in the ongoing parliamentary primaries.

The NPP parliamentary primaries have started in all constituencies with sitting MPs across the country ahead of the 2024 general elections.

In a new video sighted by InsightNewsgh.com, the benevolent MP decided to share breakfast with the delegates who have stormed the polling station to cast their votes.

The captures moments breakfast wrapped in polythene bags went round for delegates to grab their own.

This comes as no surprise to many as Adwoa Safo is noted for sharing goodies to her constituent members.

It would be recalled that, during the new voter’s registration last year October, the MP for Dome-Kwabenya shared yogot and pie for everyone.
