A public altercation involving Francis Asenso-Boakye and Ralph Agyapong attracted the attention of both party members and spectators.

The event took place amid the NPP’s internal elections, which were intended to choose parliamentary candidates for future elections.

Ralph Agyapong was not enthused that Francis Asenso-Boakye was singing at the voting centre.

Asenso-Boakye sings “What God says will come to pass” in twi while his contender in Bantama, Ralph Agyapong has his own variation of the same song, singing “you’ll only serve one term.”

As Mr. Agyapong stated that he thought Mr. Asenso-Boakye’s singing at the polling place was “unprofessional,” the situation developed.

Officers responded swiftly, stepping in to restore order at the center.

Police intervened after an argument broke out between incumbent Bantama MP, Francis Asenso-Boakye and contender Ralph Agyapong.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is an outspoken politician, and his brother Ralph Agyapong is a lawyer.

Before the primary elections, the two candidates were barely neck and neck.

Meanwhile, Asenso Boakye has refuted claims of camping some NPP delegates.

Bantama MP, Asenso Boakye was met by reporters after attending a morning devotion before stepping to cast his vote.

He was met by reporters while singing, and he said he was filled by the “spirit” and that was in no way to intimidate his opponent.

Speaking to the journalists in a video sighted on X (formerly Twitter), the NPP MP rubbished rumours that he had camped some NPP delegates prior to the voting.

Debunking the allegations, Asenso Boakye stated emphatically that he cannot camp delegates who are old enough to be his grandfather.

“There is no iota of truth we didn’t camp delegates. Nobody can camp delegates. These delegates are mature, some are as old as my grandfather.  So how can you cam your grandfather? how can you camp your father? It is a figment of their own imaginations,” he said.

He also explained that before he embarks on any contest, he does a morning devotion and this time, some delegates willingly decided to join him.
