Even though he will no longer be able to live the life of luxury, Co-founder of defunct UT Bank Mr. Prince Kofi Amoabeng claims he is content with his current circumstances and doesn’t worry too much about life.

In an interview on Starr Chat with well-known radio personality Bola Ray, Kofi Amoabeng disclosed he is comfortable and satisfied with where he lives currently after losing his big mansion in Adenta and almost everything he had.

According to Amoabeng, he has no one to impress so he is not worried about what people say about him.

He stated that he can live anywhere because he rose from nothing to something.

Earlier on, Amoabeng gave personal financial insights and disclosed an unexpected choice he made in trying circumstances.

Amoabeng revealed he was forced to sell off his 8-bedroom apartment because he was broke.

According to him, his close friends were not in support of his decision to sell his house.

Kofi Amoabeng said, “When things got tough, I sold my 8-bedroom house, which I felt I built by mistake. I had the money, so I felt I needed these things. When I was selling it, my friends were saying, ‘But Kofi, people will say you are broke,’ and I said exactly, I am broke.”

The business mogul, also shared details about his unusual lifestyle choices. He claims to have worn the same watch and shoe for more than 20 years.

The Central Bank cancelled UT and Capital Bank’s licenses in August 2017 because of their high levels of liabilities and inability to strengthen their balance sheets.

Dr. Ernest Addison, the governor of the Bank of Ghana, attributed the failure of UT and Capital Bank to poor corporate governance.

According to Dr. Addison, UT Bank’s demise might have been avoided if management had reduced risks and enhanced loan performance.
