Attorney Maurice Ampaw claims he is unsure of his plans for the Manhyia Palace.

He does not see the need to go on Monday even though the Ashanti Chiefs have called him because, in his opinion, they have been biased on the matter.

Attorney Maurice Ampaw claims he is unsure of his plans for the Manhyia Palace.

He does not see the need to go on Monday even though the Ashanti Chiefs have called him because, in his opinion, they have been biased on the matter.

He believed that when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives came to the palace to make a case for Chairman Wontumi, they ought to have shown some wisdom by refraining from passing judgment.

Speaking on Accra’s Kasapa FM, he said, “If you say traditionally I’ve disrespected you, then as a Lawyer of repute and Integrity how can a Chief call me a gutter Lawyer? All they said was on social media, and all the presenters were insulting me without listening to my side of the story.

What am I going to do there? What am I going to do there on Monday? They have already judged me without listening to me so when I go there they are just going to embarrass me and kill me. I am sad Otumfuo is out of town and his chiefs are doing this. The Constitution of Ghana is bigger than everybody and even Otumfuo is subject to the constitution,” he said.

The Kumasi Traditional Council has called attorney Maurice Ampaw to appear before it on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Following Chairman Wontumi‘s summons by the Chiefs for disobedience, he is alleged to have showered the Chiefs with insults on Wontumi Radio.
