Information reaching InsightNewsgh.com desk is that, a High Court in Accra has ordered the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to return the $590,000 and GH¢2.73 million seized from Cecilia Dapaah’s home to her within 72 hours.

Recall, last year, upon discovering the $590,000 and GH¢2.73 million, the OSP seized the property, believing it to be tainted. After that, the OSP Act, Act 959, was followed in making the application for confirmation.

When OSP agents searched three homes connected to the former minister, they found the money at Dapaah’s Abelemkpe residence.

But the application was denied by the court because it was submitted too late.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) was then directed by the High Court in Accra to give Cecilia Dapaah back the GH¢2.73 million and $590,000 that were taken from her home in a span of seven days.

Additionally, the court overturned an OSP order that had frozen Cecilia Dapaah‘s bank accounts at Prudential Bank and Société Générale.

These orders followed the court’s dismissal of an application to uphold an order freezing the former sanitation minister’s bank accounts and seizing some cash discovered in her residence as being without merit.

The application was submitted by the OSP as a part of an investigation into the NPP politician’s involvement in corruption and offenses related to corruption.

This comes after news of a theft case that involved the pilfering of 300,000 euros and more than $1 million from her residence surfaced.

    More to follow soon.
