The #BuildingGhanaTour is making storm in the Ashanti region and the first activity the former president John Dramani Mahama and the rest of the campaign team will be engaging in is the 24-hour economy sensitization walk.
In an effort to raise awareness of his proposed 24-hour economy policy, John Mahama led a large group of NDC executives and supporters on a walk on Wednesday, January 24.
The NDC flagbearer stopped at the Kejetia Market to speak with participants and vendors as the crowd joined the procession through the main thoroughfares of Kumasi.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has come under fire from Mr. John Mahama for allegedly breaking a pledge he made to the vendors at the Kumasi Kejetia market, where a portion was destroyed by fire.
When the New Patriotic Party flagbearer visited the Kejetia market, he promised to fix the damaged area. However, Mahama says that Dr. Bawumia has not followed through on his promise.
Mr. Mahama stated that he was disappointed with Dr. Bawumia and that the Vice President was not deserving of votes because he had broken his pledge.
In the event that he wins the upcoming elections on December 7, John Mahama promised to address the matter.
He criticized President Nana Akufo-Addo for remarks he had made regarding the road networks in Kwabre East, but he reiterated his pledge to address the roads network in Kwabre.
He asked Ashanti Region voters to think twice before casting their ballots and support a candidate who will advance their community and improve their lot in life.
“The government doesn’t deserve another term, it failed to deliver its promises to the traders after the fire outbreak in the market. The Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, reneged on his promise of renovating the market. The market is in a sorry state. Don’t worry, the next NDC government will renovate for you,” he promised.
