The Founder and Chairman of Africa Prosperity Network, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has sworn that he never chastised former president and NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama for running family and friends government.
In an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, Mr. Otchere-Darko denied ever speaking ill about Mahama during his tenure as the president of Ghana.
He dared his accusers to provide any evidence of him castigating John Mahama for running a family and friends government.
“I never castigated John Mahama for running a family & friends government. Tell whoever to bring the evidence if I was ever heard saying so. I will never castigate someone over family and friends,“ Gabby Otchere-Darko said.
According him, he could not have had a problem with Mahama if he was running a family and friends government.
He explained that it could have been different if people President Nana Akufo-Addo appointed did not contribute anything to his pursue of power and suddenly emerged because they are related to him by blood.
“Name me one person who has a place in [Nana Akufo-Addo] government and you can say that he or she is only there because of some blood relation but not because of the contribution he or she made,” he stated.

President Akufo-Addo‘s cousin Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has accepted as true the accusations that he led a government composed of friends and family.
Otchere-Darko talked about family members working in government and clarified any apparent parallels with previous administrations.
“I think that it’s legitimate because there are family and friends in the government. And I don’t think it was a new thing because there are people in the NPP who have described John Mahama’s government as family and friends,” stated Otchere-Darko.
He clarified that this impression is influenced by the President’s large family, many of whom are well-educated and in positions of authority. Making an analogy, he stated, “Of course John Mahama’s grandfather didn’t have a hundred and ten children, but my grandfather had.”
