The public has been urged by Nana Akomea, the Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), to stop John Dramani Mahama from being re-elected as the next president of Ghana.
He wants the electorate in Ghana to completely ignore the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate for 2024’s campaign statements emphasizing that he has nothing new to offer.
Speaking on Saturday, January 7, at the celebration for Okaikwei South lawmaker Darkoa Newman, the former minister of information called John Mahama a tried and failed leader.
On January 27, 2024, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold its primaries to choose parliamentary candidates for the December general elections that are scheduled.
Among the thirty sitting MPs the party has cleared to run unopposed is Darkoa Newman.
The former MP for Okaikwei South praised the people for sticking with and supporting Darkoa Newman, but he didn’t hesitate to criticize John Mahama for running for reelection as Ghana’s next president.
”I wonder why the NDC elected John Mahama to lead them in the 2024 polls, because we know his track record as vice and president of Ghana”.
John Mahama is a tried and failed leader, he became president of Ghana for four and half years and what he did was, he plunged the country into “dumso” where people’sbusinesses collapsed,” he stated.
Since the former president utterly failed in his attempt to lead Ghana, Nana Akomea emphasized that he poses no threat to the NPP.
Darkoa Newman thanked the delegates and pleaded with them to stick to their campaign in order to guarantee the NPP’s resounding victory on December 7.
Meanwhile, Mahama has spoken on the recent disturbance in the Bawku Municipality which has claimed the lives of three young men.
John Mahama took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to express his dissatisfaction with the recent development in the Bawku Municipality involving the Ghana Armed Forces as well.
He wrote, “I am deeply saddened and disturbed by recent developments in the Bawku municipality and the killing of three men, as confirmed by soldiers from the Ghana Armed Forces.”
