In response to rumors that he has been charged by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for tax evasion, Nana Kwame Bediako also known as Cheddar has responded.

A reliable source at the GRA claims that Cheddar failed to file personal income tax forms from 2013 to 2016, for which he was fined GH¢50,000.00. This news follows the government’s cancellation of Cheddar’s Pan-African event, The Convention, a few weeks prior.

In the wake of the uproar, he introduced himself as the face of The New Force and announced his intention to run for president in the nation’s general elections of 2024.

In response to the allegation of tax evasion, Nana Kwame Bediako refuted the reports.

“My face was on the newspapers this morning that I don’t pay taxes. I worked in this country for almost 22 or 23 years, and I’ve paid my taxes and I still pay,” he said.

“I have brought over 1500 containers of materials into this country for my real estate projects, and the taxes are a lot, but we have paid all,” he added.

“If the government aims to disgrace me by putting my face in the newspapers, I will say that this face cannot be shamed. Even if I owe you, let us talk so that I pay you; it is not about embarrassing me,” the New Force’s leader highlighted.

Cheddar requested in a video posted to his social media accounts that he be invited by the Ghana Revenue Authority to attend if there are any problems with his tax payments, and he would be happy to accept the invitation.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian youth have rallied a support for New Force leader and independent presidential candidate, Nana Kwame Bediako following latest publication of tax evasion.

Ghanaians on social media are alleging that, the NPP government is doing everything it can to sabotage and tarnish his reputation because it is afraid of him.

With the recent schemed and deliberate actions by the NPP government to sabotage Cheddar, some Ghanaians have come to the conclusion that, the New Africa Foundation leader poses as a threat to this current government and therefore he deserves their vote ahead of the 2024 elections.
