The member of parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea, has urged Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to consider resigning, citing the government’s benefit as well as his own well-being.

Fueled by the nation’s economic woes, calls for Ofori-Atta’s resignation have been intensifying for months.

Emphasizing the value of self-evaluation, Atta Akyea suggested that Ofori-Atta take stock of his situation in order to help the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and himself.

Atta Akyea emphasized the need for Ofori-Atta to have peace despite the difficulties he faces when he said that his resignation might help create a more stable environment for the country and the government.

Atta Akyea said, “What is very frightening is the fact that you have a whole army of people saying look you’ve had enough… I think that that could be a way for him to relax. Look at all the burdens on one man. So it is his individual decision to make as to whether he should go or he should continue.”

He continued, “He [Ken Ofori-Atta] should look at himself and look at all the troubles that everybody believes that I mean when he is not there then the nation will have peace, if that is what is the thinking of the people, I will advise myself. He should save himself and save the government and have his peace because he needs it, a man cannot be troubled in the manner in which he has been troubled.”

Atta Akyea also chastised those who attribute the nation’s economic woes to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

In other news, Nana Kwame Bediako says most of Ghanaian youth are confused because of the current situation of Ghana’s governance.

According to him, Ghanaian youth have been disappointed by politicians they sold their souls for money and voted for leaders they don’t know what they would benefit from at the end.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on GHOne TV, Nana Kwame Bediako revealed that he has received a lot criticisms from Ghanaians especially the youth since he announced his intentions to run for the highest position in government.
