President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has come under criticisms from Ghanaians following a viral in which the he stated clearly he refused to develop Ekumfi because his NPP candidate was voted him out.

Earlier on, InsightNewsgh.com made a publication that in response to the people of Ekumfi’s decision to reject NPP candidate Francis Kingsley Ato Codjoe in the 2020 elections, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo disclosed that he had purposefully disregarded their demands.

During a meeting with local leaders, the President candidly expressed his disappointment, acknowledging that his involvement with the constituency had decreased as a result of the electoral defeat.

“Ato Codjoe who was the MP for the area. I made him a deputy minister so that through that he would initiate development projects in the area but it didn’t last. During the subsequent election, he was voted out and these all accounted for my neglect for the area,” he said.

After this, Ghanaians on social media have slammed President Akufo-Addo for making such statements in public.

Recall, last year, President Akufo-Addo was criticized following his comments to the residents of Mepe who were greatly affected by the Akosombo spillage.

    Here some of the reactions sampled from X (formerly Twitter);

Decided not to tweet anything political this year but look at this. “I neglected Ekumfi because you voted out NPP candidate” — Nana Addo to Chiefs. Such a scandalous speech from the president at Ekumfi regarding national development. Is this how the NPP wants to break the eight.… pic.twitter.com/XQT1Zkcyfh

Akufo-Addo has confirmed that he is the MOST IRRESPONSIBLE president Africa has ever seen.

He tells citizens that he refuses to use tax payers money to invest in the Ekumfi factory because his candidate was voted out.

This man is EVIL, VINDICTIVE & IRRESPONSIBLE ❗

There’s something wrong with President Akufo-Addo’s public statements lately

I defended him for the Mepe gaffe but this one about Ekumfi shows that actually is his thinking

He’s admitting he’s failed to develop Ekumfi because they voted out the NPP MP in 2020

Nana Addo’s statement about Ekumfi clearly shows that he has intentionally decided to overlook a lot of problems for personal reasons.

    An example is; Unemployment.

No wonder he will allow the government to spend a lot on National Cathedral than build factories to employ the…

In the 2020 election, Abeiku Crentsil of the NDC received 16,037 votes, or 53.6% of the total votes cast, while Ato Cudjoe received 13,468 votes, or 45.0% of the total votes cast.

Regina Amoah, the GUM parliamentary candidate, received 371 votes, or 1.2% of the total votes cast, while Ibrahim Anderson, the CPP candidate, received 0 votes, or 0.0% of the total votes cast.

Prior to this, he served as the Deputy Minister for Aquaculture Development and Fisheries.

The Kyedomhemaa of the Ekumfi traditional area, Nana Enyimfua III, demanded that the state establish a project in the area to assist the youth in earning a living, and the President complied.
