John Dramani Mahama, the former president, is adamant that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will engage in a boot-to-boot competition in the 2024 elections.

As a result, he has ordered his all NDC supporters in the Volta Region to prepare for this match.

As part of his campaign tour ahead of 2024 polls, Mr. Mahama met party supporters in Volta region recently rallying support.

Prior to the 2024 elections, he declared that party officials working on the elections would receive intensive training.

Mahama declared that all NDC supporters including himself are going to be agents and won’t sleep until Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson, Miss Jean Mensa declares NDC as the winner of the 2024 elections.

“All of us are going to be party agents, the branch executives, the regional executives, the supporters and the foot soldiers are going to be vigilant. We’re not going to sleep on &th December night. We’ll not sleep until we have finished counting the parliamentary and presidential results,” Mr. Mahama said.

He continued that no NDC member is sleep until all the results counted has been correctly collated at the collation center.

He added, “We’ll not sleep until the regional tally has been done, we’ll not sleep until the strongroom tally has been done. We’ll not sleep until Madam Jean Mensa has the unpleasant duty of naming NDC as the winners of the 2024 elections.”

Relatedly, John Mahama has reiterated his promise to pay allowances to Assembly members if voted into power.

According to Mr. Mahama, the President’s office budget alone is more than GH¢2 billion, therefore he would reduce the President’s office expenditure to pay the Assembly members to help carry out their responsibilities.

Mr. Mahama further added that all Assembly members would receive GH¢1,000 in monthly allowances from the incoming NDC administration.
