It was all joy when Chef Faila finally ended her cookathon in her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, unofficially breaking the previous record.

After clocking 227hours, Chef Faila Abdul-Razak turned off her gas cylinder to end her cooking marathon.

Inspired by the accomplishments of Ugandan Chef Mama Dee, Chef Faila decided to extend her culinary feat to an impressive 10 days, instead of the original plan of a 5-day nonstop cooking marathon.

In an effort to outpace other record breakers, Chef Faila’s attempt to complete the longest cooking marathon by an individual was extended from January 5th to January 10th, 2024.

Alan Fisher holds the current official record, having cooked for slightly more than 119 hours.

Failatu Abdul-Razak, as previously mentioned, recently concluded her challenge at 226 hours, making her the unofficial record holder.

The Guinness World Record board will then receive all of the available evidence, review it, and render a decision regarding whether or not Chef Faila broke the record and set a new one.

In a video sighted online, just moments after putting out the fire, Chef Faila was covered with the Ghanaian flag.

Chef Faila could not hold her tears after she successfully engraved her name in the history books after cooking for over 227 hours.

When Faila shared the pictures to mark the conclusion of her cook-a-thon, she was visibly distraught and appeared to be crying.

Relatedly, Guinness World Records has released its first official statement regarding Chef Faila Abdul Razak’s historic attempt at a cookathon, to the delight of Ghanaians everywhere on the internet.

Guinness World Records states that it is dedicated to a thorough review procedure and is awaiting Chef Faila’s proof.

Guinness World Records made their announcement public after Olele Salvador, a Ghanaian entertainment enthusiast and brand influencer, congratulated Chef Faila on her outstanding accomplishment on social media.
