After 226 hours, Failatu Abdul-Razak has successfully completed her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, unofficially breaking the previous record.
Inspired by the accomplishments of Ugandan Chef Mama Dee, Chef Faila decided to extend her culinary feat to an impressive 10 days, instead of the original plan of a 5-day nonstop cooking marathon.
In an effort to outpace other record breakers, Chef Faila’s attempt to complete the longest cooking marathon by an individual was extended from January 5th to January 10th, 2024.
Alan Fisher holds the current official record, having cooked for slightly more than 119 hours.
Failatu Abdul-Razak, as previously mentioned, recently concluded her challenge at 226 hours, making her the unofficial record holder.
The Guinness World Record board will then receive all of the available evidence, review it, and render a decision regarding whether or not Chef Faila broke the record and set a new one.
Chef Faila will address the media at 4p.m today after ending her cook-a-thon and there will after party to climax the event in Tamale.
Earlier on, Diligent Blakk Rasta, has voiced legitimate concerns about Chef Faila’s attempt to shatter the record for the longest cooking marathon by a single person.
Blakk Rasta voiced concerns about the possible health hazards linked to her cook-a-thon endeavor and vehemently disagreed with the notion of people starving themselves of enough sleep for an extended duration, characterizing it as a “suicide mission.”
He also used the occasion to issue a warning regarding the growing nationwide trend of different marathons.
Blakk Rasta stressed how important it is for people taking part in these challenges to put their health first. He emphasized the risk involved in going longer than three days without sleep and made it clear that he was unable to support such initiatives.
He thanked everyone for their efforts but hoped they would think twice about the possible long-term effects on their health.
