NPP will fail because no power can defeat justice – NDC

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is accused by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of plotting to elude justice by clinging to power following the elections in December.

The NDC asserts that the government intends to hold onto power even after it is overthrown because it is aware of all its unlawful acts and the fallout that will occur when it leaves office.

At a press conference following the district-level elections, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the chairman of the NDC, stated that the NPP’s attempts to maintain power would fail because Ghanaians have already rejected their plans.

“This government knows its uncountable and unconscionable actions and inactions, including corruption, flagrant human rights abuses, and more. Therefore, they are preparing to hang onto power at all costs to escape justice.”

“They will fail because no power can defeat an organized and determined people struggling for their freedom. Truth is, Ghanaians have already abandoned the NPP and their followers. Therefore, the NPP ministers must begin preparing their handing over notes.”

The NDC chairman continued, saying that a number of NPP-affiliated candidates were defeated in the recently concluded district-level elections, suggesting that the current administration is about to leave office.

“Already, thousands of persons affiliated with the NPP have lost the District Level Elections. Yes, NPP people have miserably lost the Assembly and Unit Committee elections to members, supporters, and affiliates of the NDC.”

“Sincere political watchers and analysts know this is another evidence when a government is on its way out of office. They know because even though the processes leading to the District Level Elections are non-partisan, most of the contestants and the voters are aware of where the candidates stand politically.”

Relatedly, in the general elections of 2024, voters are being urged by the Ashanti Region leadership of the NDC to reject NPP parliamentary candidates.

Notwithstanding their power in the area, the NDC argues that NPP MPs do not deserve to continue representing the Ashanti Region in Parliament because they have not succeeded in bringing about the necessary development in the area.
