The New Africa Foundation unexpectedly announced the cancellation of its much-anticipated convention, which was supposed to take place at Black Stars Square on January 7, in an official statement.

The event was arranged by the foundation, which had recently attracted a lot of attention, as part of its goal to develop fresh voices in politics.

Many New Africa Foundation supporters and followers were devastated by the cancellation because they had been looking forward to the foundation’s vision of a transformative political agenda as well as the introduction of a new potential leader.

The foundation’s spokesperson apologized for the unanticipated events that resulted in the cancellation and reassured supporters that the decision was not made lightly.

“We regret to inform you that the Government has canceled the above Pan African Event which was to take place today at the Independence Square in Accra, Ghana.,”

“We have just been informed of the cancelation of this event a couple of hours before its commencement”

“We understand the anticipation and excitement surrounding this event, and we share in the disappointment of our supporters,” the statement read.

The New Force political movement has issued a press statement advocating for Human Rights and Justice in Ghana.

This comes after its spokesperson, Shalimar Abbiusi was deported back to her country Belgium following her second arrest by the Ghana Immigration Service.

In a lengthy statement, the New Force lamented over the manhandling and unfair treatment of Shalimar Abbiusi, who volunteered to sympathize with the plight of Ghanaians by joining the new political movement.

According to the new movement, it is a grassroot movement that stands for “a renewal and rejuvenation for the people of Ghana.”

The New Force added that Miss Abbiusi willing offered herself to be the movement’s lead spokesperson even though she was not born in Ghana.

“Where we saw genuine heartfelt support for our people, others saw subterfuge,” part of the statement read.

The political movement apologized to the international community over the disregard for human right laws in connection with the maltreatment of Shalimar Abbiusi.
