Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has blasted the Nana Akufo-Addo administration for impeding the New Africa Foundation’s highly anticipated Convention 2024.
A few hours before the program, the Pan African event Convention 2024 was canceled. Originally, it was set to take place on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Black Star Square, coinciding with Ghana’s Constitution Day.
The government instructed the organizers to abruptly cancel the event, according to a statement they released.
In a statement, the Office of the President’s Diaspora Affairs Directorate stated that an “unforeseen state event” that was supposed to take place at the same location caused it to revoke its previous approval of the event to be held at Black Star Square.
Franklin Cudjoe, the President of IMANI Africa, posted on Facebook that he was unhappy with the government’s response and action, claiming that it went against what President Akufo-Addo had said.
“The President in his Constitution Day speech promised to uphold individual liberties and guarantee freedom of assembly and association. Less than five hours after his speech, his office strangely torpedoed a licensed public event a group of law-abiding citizens had put together, leaving thousands stranded as heavily armed security forces barred entry to the venue. The reason? The President’s office had booked the same venue for an unspecified event. Chaotic, reckless, and brigandry!”
Meanwhile, Nana Kwame Bediako, better known as Freedom Jacob Caesar and Cheddar, has announced that he is the man hiding behind the mask for the New Force.
This confirmation comes after months of searching for the real deal.
He revealed this to a group of distinguished African speakers during a conference held yesterday, January 7, 2024.
Prominent African politicians, such as Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao of Zimbabwe, PLO Lumumba of Kenya, and Peter Obi of Nigeria, were present when the 43-year-old made the revelation.
He had arranged a free public lecture called “The Convention,” which the group had traveled to the city to speak at, on behalf of the New Africa Foundation.
