Spokesperson for the New Africa Foundation political movement, Monique Mitchell has revealed that nothing was communicated to them prior to the cancellation of the Convention event at the Black Star Square.
Recall, InsightNewsgh.com reported that the government of Ghana released a press statement to explain the cancellation of ‘The Convention’ event that was organized by the New Africa Foundation at the Black Star Square on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
The event was arranged by the foundation, which had recently attracted a lot of attention, as part of its goal to develop fresh voices in politics, however was called off unexpectedly.
Speaking to the media after the program was cancelled, Monique Mitchell said all protocols and everything was duly followed and they obtained the venue for the event back November, 2023.
She added that they planned so many surprises and giveaway for the New Africa Foundation followers who turned to partake in the event.
However, Monique Mitchell said that this won’t be the last time they heard from them after apologizing for the failed event.
She confirmed that the program was cancelled due to unforeseen state events, but they were only informed just few hours to the start of the Convention.
“We are so sorry to everyone who came out, we did not want to disappoint you, it wasn’t part of our plan, but again you will be hearing from us soon with more information and we hope you all get home safely,” Spokesperson for the New Africa Foundation said.
