Chef Faila has been cooking for the past 106+ hours in her attempt to break the Guinness World Record longest cooking marathon.
In an attempt to surpass Ireland’s Alan Fisher, who currently holds the record for the longest cooking marathon (119 hours and 57 minutes), Chef Faila Abdul-Razak began her challenge on Monday, January 1, 2023, and was initially set to end on Friday, January 5.
She is already on day 5 and has been cooking over 60 meals for more than 106 hours. Chef Faila decided to hold her record-breaking cook-a-athon at Modern City hotel, Tamale.
In addition to exhibiting Chef Faila’s culinary skills, this ambitious project aims to establish a new benchmark in the culinary industry.
She’s prepared a wide range of meals, including fufu with soup, tuo-zaafi with ayoyo soup, chicken and curry rice, waakye and many more.
Chef Faila is not only putting Ghana on the world map but also putting smiles on the needy and orphans on the streets of Tamale.
In viral photos and video, food prepared by the incoming Guinness World Records holder for the longest cook-a-thon were shared to the some homeless and needy people on streets of Tamale.
This move has warmed many hearts on social media with Ghanaians praising and wishing her well to break and set a new cook-a-thon record.

Relatedly, Hilda Baci has come under fire from a Nigerian man for preparing a “premature jollof” and having the gall to claim on a podcast that Ghanaian jollof is bland.
After witnessing Chef Faila cook in an attempt to shatter the record for the longest cooking session, he made these remarks.
The Nigerian man showered Chef Faila with compliments for her delicious cooking and eye-catching meal presentations.
He continued by criticizing Hilda Baci for calling herself a chef despite the fact that she presented her meals poorly during her cook-a-thon.
Meanwhile, Chef Faila is reportedly reevaluating her plans as she aims to break three more records, including the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.
According to fresh information making the rounds on the internet, the Tamale-born woman is rethinking her original 120-hour plan.
Veteran media personality Gifty Anti claims to have heard rumors that Chef Faila is going to try to cook for 200 hours.
