Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, a broadcaster and businesswoman, revealed that the night before the attempt to set a record for the longest singathon, her home was broken into.

Afua Aduonum revealed in an exclusive interview with GHOne TV’s Gh Today that she wasn’t happy the night her singathon started.

She mentioned that the night before the attempt to set a new Guinness World Record, an unidentified attacker broke into her married home. She revealed that she was lucky that the thieves had left no valuables behind.

“They just scattered all our stuff. They did not take money; they did not take anything. All they took was my husband’s deodorant and spray. There were laptops. There was money. They did not take anything,” she said.

Afua Asantewaa revealed that she and her family were forced to stay in a hotel after the robbery, and they left after the sing-a-thon was over.

Regarding the impact of that incident on the singathon, she stated, “That day was terrible. Anybody who saw me on Thursday would have or I know would have said somewhere that I was stressed already but they did not know what was actually happening.”

Afua Aduonum of Ghana provided additional details about her decision to try to break a Guinness World Record (GWR).

She praised Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, whose 2022 cook-a-thon attempt amazed a lot of people. The seasoned Ghanaian broadcaster claims that she was inspired to try breaking a GWR by the Nigerian chef.

Social media users have been debating Afua Asantewaa’s remarks since many others have expressed similar opinions.

Afua Aduonum is optimistic about Chef Failatu Abdul Razak’s attempt at a cook-a-thon in the interim.

She claimed to have already sent Chef Faila her best wishes in a recent TV3 interview.

Afua Asantewaa added that her team might think about traveling to Tamale to support Faila as she starts her attempt.
