Veteran Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame has sent a strong warning to his critics who slammed him for refusing to join the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest.

Recall, last year a group of Ghanaian youth staged a protest dubbed #OccupyJulorbiHouse demo for three days.

Amid corruption, economic crisis, lack of jobs and bad governance under the President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia NPP government, these young people together with some Ghanaian celebrities protested for change.

Okyeame Kwame who didn’t join the protest called out the leaders of the #OccupyJulorbiHouse movement. However, he came under heavy criticism from the agitated youth.

Speaking in a recent interview with Berla Mundi on The Day Show on TV3, Okyeame Kwame said tagging the seat of the President as a ‘Julorbi’ house was disrespectful.

According to him, he was not raised to insults the elderly and so he is not interested in joining a protest that insults the presidency.

“The organizers of the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest never consulted me but they were forcing me to be part of it, I am not known to be insulting adults. If my father had lived, he would be the same age as the president and I can not call him a julorbi,” he said.

“What I do is to turn on the light of love and humble myself,” he added.

Okyeame Kwame further explained that he should be the last person to experience the economic crisis because he is an artiste.

However, he believes with maturity every issue can be resolved amicably without insults.

He stressed that they should not force him to join a protest that insults leadership.

Relatedly, Pappy Kojo said he attended the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest to support his friends and not because of the plight of Ghanaians.

Speaking in an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, Pappy Kojo claimed that he’s a loyal friend and so he went there to support his friends. According to him he has swimming pool and chefs in house and so he doesn’t care what happens in the country.
