Sarah Adwoa Safo, the member of parliament for Dome-Kwabenya for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is confident delegates in her constituency will elect her again to lead the party in the upcoming 2024 parliamentary elections.
Speaking after the NPP parliamentary vetting in Accra, Adwoa Safo said the contrary to what many people are saying she deserted them, however, the NPP delegates in Dome-Kwabenya don’t see desertion but a woman who has worked tirelessly as a young woman.
“They don’t see any point of desertion. What they see is a woman who has worked tirelessly as a young woman,” she told the reporters.
She continued, “When I entered parliament, my child was 2-years-old as we speak now he is 16years that tells you the sacrifice I have done for my people and for the country and they appreciate that.”

On January 3, the NPP started screening candidates for parliament in the districts where its current members of parliament are located across the nation.
In order to select parliamentary candidates for the 14 constituencies in the region, the Greater Accra Regional office started screening them.
On Day 1, candidates for eight constituencies are anticipated to go through the procedure.
Darkoa Newman, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South, is the only candidate running because her late opponent Richard Hagan has been disqualified.
In October 2023, some market women at the Dome Market hooted and made unpleasant small talk with Sarah Adwoa Safo, the member of parliament for Dome Kwabenya for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The three-term lawmaker encountered some resistance when she tried to discuss some developmental issues in the constituency with the market women.
Some shoppers can be heard yelling “away, away” at the former Minister for Gender and Children Affairs in a video that has gone viral on social media.
Additionally, the market women chanted phrases like to express how they felt, “We want change” and “Adwoa Safo, we don’t want you again.”
