Ghanaian media personality and mother of three, Afua Asantewaa has one hour more to equal the longest singing marathon by an individual in the Guinness World Records book.
The Guinness World Records for the longest singing marathon is currently held by an Indian man called Sunil Waghmare, who sang 105hours in March 2012.
As at the time of writing this article, Afua Asantewaa had sung 105hours non-stop to break Sunil Waghmare’s sing-a-athon Guinness World Record.
But what songs has the former beauty Queen and budding journalist been singing for the past 4 days.
Throughout the challenge, the aspiring journalist was required to sing various Ghanaian songs, with a brief 20-minute break every four hours.
Below are Afua Asantewaa’s sing-a-thon playlist of Ghanaian songs she submitted to Guinness World Record for approval;
However, Afua Asantewaa is not finished; she is about to surpass the 120th hour in her hour, setting a new record that will likely be hard for anyone to surpass.
Ghanaians flocked to Akwaaba Village in large numbers to shower her with love and support, giving her more than she could have ever imagined.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Efya, Fella Makafui, Asamoah Gyan, Stephen Appiah, Sammy Awuku, Lil Win, DKB, SDK, Kuame Eugene, the lookalikes, and Sista Efia were among the highly notable individuals present.
It is now up to Guinness World Records to examine the evidence that will be presented to them and make a formal declaration regarding whether or not she succeeded in accomplishing the feat.
Up until that point, Afua Asantewaa has made a name for herself as a minor celebrity and shown Ghanaians what is possible when we band together.
Meanwhile, Zapp Mallet has apologized to Afua Asantewaa Aduonum for remarks he made recently about her attempt to set a new record for the Sing-a-thon.
His previous remarks caused a stir on the internet because many users thought the music producer’s situation was unjustified and extremely insensitive.
