Afua Asantewaa’s singaton may be the best thing that ever happened to Ghanaians in 2023.
Her attempt to break Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon has been widely welcomed and supported by Ghanaians both far and near.
Her ambitious singaton event, has attracted a massive support from the local people, celebrities in the creative arts industry, and politicians.
This is the first I am seeing everybody rallying behind a Ghanaian to do something great for the nation, without receiving many criticisms from others.
However, it is surprising that our neighboring country, Nigerians have suddenly gone silent over Afua Asantewaa’s singaton Guiness World Record attempt.
Prophet Nigel Gaisie who stormed the event some few days ago, sharing his view on Facebook after the visit, prompted us that Nigerian bloggers and celebrities have refused to support our sister.
In a long Facebook post, the controversial prophet called out Nigerians for being ungrateful and not returning the favor Ghanaians once offered Hilda Baci who broke the Guiness World Record for the longest cooking time.
Prophet Nigel then urged Ghanaians to learn their lessons and focus on minding their businesses and promoting their own just the Nigerians do.
According to him, the Nigerians have practiced the culture of supporting their own no matter what and he entreated Ghanaians to do same, saying it is never too late to change the narrative.

Meanwhile, famous music producer Zapp Mallet received negative feedback on social media after advising Afua Asantewaa not to try to break the record for the longest singing marathon by one person.
Given that singing requires strength, it appears that Mallet, with his wealth of experience, recognized Asantewaa’s vocal strain and suggested that she eat something substantial.
Mallet suggested that Asantewaa might be taking on more than she can handle in a series of posts on X, highlighting the fact that such accomplishments are usually limited to people with distinct singing abilities.
But Mallet’s remarks infuriated online users, who berated him for being depressing and voiced their disappointment.
Critics contend that rather than being negative, Mallet’s knowledge should be constructive due to his prominence as an accomplished and seasoned music producer.
Asantewaa wants to beat the existing record of 105 hours, which was set in 2012 by Indian singer Sunil Waghmare.
On Sunday, December 24, at midnight, Afua Asantewaa’s attempt to set a new Guinness World Record got underway in Akwaaba Village, Accra. It is expected to end on December 27.
Ghanaians have shown the mother of three a ton of support as she works to smash the record on Thursday.
