The New Force political movement has issued a press statement advocating for Human Rights and Justice in Ghana.
This comes after its spokesperson, Shalimar Abbiusi was deported back to her country Belgium following her second arrest by the Ghana Immigration Service.
In a lengthy statement, the New Force lamented over the manhandling and unfair treatment of Shalimar Abbiusi, who volunteered to sympathize with the plight of Ghanaians by joining the new political movement.
According to the new movement, it is a grassroot movement that stands for “a renewal and rejuvenation for the people of Ghana.”
The New Force added that Miss Abbiusi willing offered herself to be the movement’s lead spokesperson even though she was not born in Ghana.
“Where we saw genuine heartfelt support for our people, others saw subterfuge,” part of the statement read.
The political movement apologized to the international community over the disregard for human right laws in connection with the maltreatment of Shalimar Abbiusi.
“We apologize for the disregard of international human right laws in our Republic of Ghana,” it said.
“In a gesture of accountability, we extend apology to the kingdom of Belgium, the EU committee and the international community at large. We hope that you do not retaliate in kind. We hope that Ghana reconsiders their reported misuse of power for political interests and realigns herself with a robust legal framework that preserves our global standing as a country of justice and peace.”
