According to Kwame Asare Obeng, better known as A Plus, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng has escaped five separate assassination attempts this year alone, which is why his office insists on bulletproof cars.

He was responding to criticisms that followed the release of a leaked document that showed the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) asking the Finance Ministry for GH¢29,952,000 in total to buy 12 different types of light-body vehicles and four different types of armored vehicles. The request was part of an application submitted in 2021 to have certain vehicles cleared.

A Plus claims that Kissi Agyebeng and the OSP only wanted to safeguard their lives due to ongoing threats against the lives of its employees, and criticizing them for making a request that they have a right to makes them appear insensitive.

“You want to assassinate someone. You have made five attempts on his life this year alone, but you are angry he has requested bulletproof cars which is a requirement under the law that set up his office. Did the special prosecutor set up the OSP? Should I release the photos of all the attempts, or you’ll shut up over there and allow the man to do his job? Like, he should avail himself for k!ln abi? I’m surprised he didn’t even request for bulletproof bulldozers. You have children but every day you want to k!l somebody. If you like, ask police to invite me for questioning. Like the things I’ll say ɛh! I’m calling your bluff!” he wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

He bemoaned the fact that Kissi Agyebeng was not receiving the same treatment as certain well-intentioned Ghanaians who attempted to combat corruption.

“Me I no dey see any of you ooo, You people did the same to Charlotte Osei, you did the same to Domelovo, you did the same to Martin Amidu, you did the same to Dr Anyah, just to mention a few, and Abdul Malik Kwaku Barko ooo sɛ Kwaku One too,” he added.

He went on to say that if he was forced to the breaking point, he might have to reveal some very private information about the individuals who are opposing the OSP and their botched plots.
