Sam George, the Ningo-Prampram member of parliament, has stated some of the challenges he has faced following his fight against the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana.

The outspoken MP for Ningo-Prampram narrated in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat of how the Amnesty International went berserk and criticized the African Lawyers Hub in Kenya who invited to speak on “Digital Tech.”

According to Sam George, the topic of LGBTQ was not discussed at the meeting but after he delivered his speech on “Digital Tech,” the Amnesty International went bonker and released a statement criticizing the organizers of the event for inviting him over to speak.

“You can’t cancel Sam George, I am too big to be canceled by the grace of God. The grace of God upon me can not be canceled, so no matter what they do, they can’t cancel me,” he warned the Amnesty International.

The unconventional NDC MP added that when the Amnesty International thought they were canceling him, he ended up at the United Nations (UN) headquarters, which he described as the ‘heart of the Beast.’

In the same interview, Sam George stated that passing the contentious anti-LGBTQ bill would be the “best thing to happen to Ghana.”

The lawmaker made it clear that he is more worried about the perceived imposition of such practices on Ghanaian youth than he is about what people do in their bedrooms.

He maintained that the goal of the bill is to safeguard personal privacy and family values.

“When the bill is passed and becomes law, if they say you’ve fallen foul of the bill, it is not because somebody thinks or infers incorrectly. The person has to take you to court and prove before a judge in a court of competent jurisdiction, meeting the ingredients of the law,” Mr. Sam George explained.
