John Dramani Mahama, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for the 2024 elections, has declared Ghana a rescued mission for himself.
The former president took his ‘Building The Ghana We Want Together’ campaign to Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region, addressing the gathering John Mahama stressed that Ghana is in crisis.
According to him, President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia led NPP government have led the nation into a ditch where nothing seems to be working anymore for Ghanaians.
He noted that everybody knows that Ghana is so broke to the point where it can’t pay off its debts.
Mahama went on to say that at this point, Ghana is in need of an experienced leader to rescue the nation from these crisis.
“Our country is in crisis, our economy is in crisis, we have announced to the whole world that, we are bankrupt, we can’t pay our debts anymore. Nobody trusts Ghana to lend us any money. Everything has deteriorated under this government. Ghana is in need of rescue, where we have gotten to we need an experienced hand to come and rescue us,” Mahama said.
The NDC flagbearer urged Ghanaians to choose NDC because they have a good track record of managing the economy.

Relatedly, Mahama has called on some party faithful to form a united force to regain power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking to some NDC faithfuls in a meeting, John Mahama said Ghana needs an experienced hand to rescue the country from the current economic hardship.
According to John Mahama, Ghana would be better off with an experienced leader than someone looking to test their leadership abilities with the nation’s governance.
He claimed that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia led government’s deliberate mismanagement has destroyed the nation’s economy.
He underscored the importance of maintaining unity within the NDC in order to win the 2024 elections so that they can implement good polices to recover Ghana’s economy.
