The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Effutu, Abebrese, will never be able to challenge Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the member of parliament for the Effutu constituency, in the general elections of 2024.
In the Effutu constituency on Friday, December 8, the deputy Majority Leader led a walk known as the “NPP All White Peace Walk.”
Thousands of people turned out to walk to the Effutu MP in white attire, making the event a success.
During the peace walk, Mr. Afenyo-Markin addressed his constituents and urged them to vote against NDC parliamentary candidate Abebrese in the 2024 elections.
Effutu MP boosted that the NDC’s Parliamentary candidate, Abebrese is a no match for him. According to him, the candidate for NDC will fall down flat if he stands shoulder to shoulder with in Effutu politics.
He added that the NDC nor Abebrese has nothing good to offer them but lies. The Deputy Majority Leader warned his constituents to be aware of NDC, describing the opposition party as ‘liars’ who deceives the electorates.
If elected to office again in 2024, the Effutu MP promised to keep pushing for greater development in the constituency.

Meanwhile, Afenyo-Markin says he will continue to protect the sacred forest and any properties belonging to his constituents.
The Effutu MP comments comes after some residents believed to believed NDC supporters alleged that the sacred forest used in the hunting of deer during the annual Aboakyire festival has been sold to some investors by government for lithium mining.
However, speaking at a ‘NPP all white Peace walk’, Mr. Afenyo-Markin dismissed such claims, promising the NPP will do everything to protect all Effutu properties even if he is longer their MP for many years to come.
“If there is a party that can protect the properties of Effutu, it is the NPP and no other party. And me Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, I will make sure to protect everything that belongs to Simpa from now till I leave the seat and will continue doing that even when I am no more your MP,” he assured.
