In the Northern Region of the 2024 general elections, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been defeated by National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Mahama, according to a recent poll by Global Info Analytics.
Mahama received 55% of the vote among North Region electors in the poll released on Monday, December 2, 2023, with Dr. Bawumia receiving 37% of the vote.
Alan Kyerematen, the leader of the Movement for Change, is next. He received 4% of the vote, placing him third in the poll, while 3% of voters said they had not decided who to vote for yet.
Less than 1% of the votes were cast for the other presidential candidates, which included Kwabena Andrews of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Kofi Akpaloo of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), independent candidate Dr. Sam Ankrah, and Hassan Ayariga of the All Peoples Congress (APC).
The leading opposition NDC candidate, John Mahama, leads NPP candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia 37% to 55% in a Global Info Analytics poll conducted in all 18 constituencies in the Northern region. According to the executive summary of the poll, Alan Kyeremanten of the Butterfly movement is in third place with 4%, followed by others with 1% and undecided people with 3%.
According to the survey, voters’ decisions were primarily influenced by the state of the economy, employment, education, and corruption, with 58% of electors believing that the nation was going in the wrong path.
Voters’ top concerns, according to the report, are still the economy (78%), jobs (70%), education (61%), and corruption (21%). In the Northern region, 34% of voters thought Ghana was headed in the right direction, 8% were unsure, and 58% of voters thought the country was headed in the wrong direction.

To discuss the party’s future, Mahama met with Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, the former governor of the Bank of Ghana.
Among other things, the purpose of the meeting is to coordinate preparations for the 2024 presidential and legislative elections.
