Despite requests to reschedule, Senior High School (SHS) first-year students across the country are expected to report to their respective schools today.

Parental groups, teacher unions, and other pertinent parties have urged the Ghana Education Service (GES) to reevaluate the reporting, but their requests have not been answered.

Amidst the limited time for parents to prepare, Parliament intervened and urged the Education Ministry to reschedule the date from Monday, December 4 to the first week of January.

However, GES insisted in a statement that the date stays the same and added that management expects schools to start student registration and orientation on December 4, 2023.

By means of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), 585,797 candidates out of a total of 598,839 have been placed in various Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools (TVET).

Parents who are having trouble finding suitable placements for their children are encouraged to seek assistance from resolution centers located all over the country.
