The Ministry of Education has been instructed by Parliament to postpone the reopening date of December 4 for new SHS students until January 4, 2024.
During Thursday’s session, Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin emphasized the critical nature of the issue and called for a briefing with the Minister of Education on Monday, December 4.
He asked the Ministry of Education to think about reopening in the first week of January 2024 as a more suitable date, giving parents, kids, and teachers plenty of time to prepare.
The House stressed the need for a more convenient and appropriate time to start the academic term in a statement released through the Media Relations Department.
