Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, a former member of parliament (MP) for Ledzokuku, has been elected as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Ledzokuku constituency in just-ended primaries.
Following his victory, he has heard that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is saying that he is their biggest headache.
Speaking to reporters prior to the results being announced, Dr. Okoe Boye expressed confidence that he would be the most suitable candidate to represent the NPP in the general elections of 2024.
“The NDC has been telling people that I am their biggest headache, the good news I have for them is that the headache will get worse,” he said.
In the 2024 elections, Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, the current Member of Parliament, will compete against the head of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
Meanwhile, delegates from the NPP in the Greater Accra region’s Ledzokuku constituency are gushing about Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, a former member of parliament.
Following the voting procedure, the delegates were served breakfast and were treated to a buffet lunch.
They praised Dr. Okoe Boye for his thoughtful act, which they claimed was a sign of love for them.
The delighted voters expressed confidence that the former MP would lead the party to victory in the 2024 election and carry on the excellent work.
Collins Nii Ashitey Ollenu, Clifford Martey, and Ibrahim Adjei—a presidential staffer—challenged the former MP.
At the end of the day, NHIA CEO Bernard Oko Boye got the nod at Ledzokuku. He garnered 901 while Collins Nii Ashitey Ollenu polled 354. The other aspirants Clifford Martey Korley and Ibrahim Sowah Adjei polled 199 and 179 vote.
