Ertz attended St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California, where he played football, baseball, and basketball. He then played college football at Stanford University, where he was a unanimous All-American in 2012. Ertz was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
