Minority Leader, Dr. Ato Cassiel Forson has trolled the Majority Caucus in parliament after they walked out during the 2024 budget approval.

Speaking to the media after the incident, Minority Leader of the NDC MPs said the NPP MPs have been defeated in a grand style after they boycotted their own 2024 budget approval in Parliament yesterday.

According to Dr. Ato Forson, the NPP MPs do not have the numbers in Parliament to approve the 2024 budget hence they walked out.

On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, during the procedures to approve the 2024 budget, the majority in parliament left the room.

The Speaker’s decision that the 2024 budget had been approved by a majority voice vote was contested by the minority MPs, who demanded a head count.

Most of the MPs who left the house were not pleased with this decision.

The Minority Leader also added that the NDC MPs in Parliament were ready to vote against the 2024 budget which was presented by the Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta on November 15, 2023.

The 2024 budget has not been approved, according to Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and the caucus will not back its approval in its current form.

“The NPP has been defeated in a grand style. This is the second time the NPP has run away from its budget, the second time in the history of Ghana, sensing defeat. We have got them and will get them again.

“The fact is that the NPP doesn’t have the numbers to approve their budget. NDC MPs were ready to vote against the budget for a very good reason. We cannot allow this budget to go through in its current form, because the ordinary Ghanaian will suffer,” Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson added.

The NPP MPs abandoned their own budget because they did not have the numbers to approve their own budget. Sending defeat, they runaway from the chamber: Minority Leader, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson .@Cassielforson pic.twitter.com/jXA8vlU9Lw
