Charlie Munger was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on January 1, 1924, to Alfred Charles Munger, an attorney and businessman, and Lydia Mary Munger, a homemaker. Growing up during the Great Depression, Munger’s family experienced financial hardship, which instilled in him a strong sense of frugality and a deep appreciation for the value of money.
