Yaw Buaben Asamoa, a former director of communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that his son’s academic performance is suffering as a result of his termination.

He claims that his son, whose identity and educational background he withheld, is now the target of jeers from his peers.

The former MP for Adentan, Hopeson Adorye, Nana Ohene Ntow, the former general secretary, and Boniface Abubakar Saddique, the former MP for Madina, were all kicked out of the NPP last Monday.

Considering his years of dedicated service to the NPP, the Movement for Change’s leading member, who has acted unfazed throughout, has stated that his family has been severely impacted.

“When you offer yourself to lead people, it is a huge responsibility. In my case, it has affected my wife and children. With the question you are asking me now, my child has become a victim of mockery because his father was dismissed. Now, he is unable to focus and it is affecting his studies,” according to Mr. Buaben Asamoa, in an interview with Oyerepa FM, based in Kumasi.

Buaben Asamoa claimed that the reasons behind his dismissal should not be taken lightly by the NPP.

“Some are saying I left the party because I am annoyed. That cannot be taken lightly. As they keep saying that he is annoyed because someone else is leading the party, they should know that what they themselves are annoying and displeasing. I am not annoyed at anything going on,” he added.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for SEKONDI Constituency, Andrew Egyapa Mercer has defended the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia against public criticisms over the current economic crisis in the Ghana.

Speaking in a panel discussion on TV3 New Day show, Mr. Egyapa Mercer claimed that every country in this world is suffering economically, so Ghana’s economic crisis is no different.

According to the MP, Ghanaians should rather blame President Nana Akufo-Addo and not attribute it to Dr. Bawumia for Ghana economic crisis. He went on to add that several factors have caused Ghana to be where it is today.
