Veteran Gospel musician, Florence Obinim, has secured top on X (formerly Twitter) trends for hours as at the time writing this article, and many people are wondering why. Don’t worry soon you will find out here.
It all began when some tweeps decided to rank the top ten gospel acts from Ghana and Florence Obinim name was mentioned.
Her inclusion in the top 10 gospel musicians, has cause a massive reactions from tweeps online as some also used the opportunity to drag Joe Mettle, who was excluded from the list.
Some tweeps shared their experiences from their childhood in the 2000’s when Florence Obinim blessed Ghanaians with some powerful gospel soul touching songs that moved many to tears and surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ.
They added that the ‘Osoro Ne Me Fie’ hitmaker’s influence in Ghana’s gospel music scene, cannot be understated.
‘Osoro Ne Me Fie’ song the wife of Bishop Daniel Obinim topped charts in the early 2000’s and is still a beautiful song.
Ghanaian gospel musician Florence Obinim performs. She began singing in the Assemblies of God church in Kumasi, where she was raised, when she was approximately eleven years old. She continued to sing until she got married to Daniel Obinim.
She has received support from her parents, Akosua Serwaa and Nana Kwabena, the chief of Sreso in Kumasi, and she plans to continue in the music ministry for as long as God wills.
Many Ghanaians loved her debut album, which even had many kids singing along. After hearing her husband, Rev. Daniel Obinim, preach on the subject, she was moved to pen her hit song, Osoro ne me fie (Heaven is my home).
The song is a cover of a well-known song by South African singer Rebecca Malope. Wagye me, Oben me, Mehia w’adom, Mdimafo, Mahunu bi da, Ma me nyansa, and other well-known songs are among her hits.
Meanwhile, Joe Mettle was excluded from the top list of the Ghanaian gospel singers and some people don’t agree with that.
Those opposed to the agenda contend that Joe Mettle is indisputable among the greatest Ghanaian gospel singers of all time.
They went on to say that his impact on the current gospel music landscape is enormous.
It would be a grave mistake for Joe Mettle, who has been a leading figure in Ghanaian gospel music for the past ten or more years, to be absent from a list of the top performers.
The agenda’s other section asserts that the impact your songs have had on regular listeners is more important than accolades and rankings.
