Bofoakwa Tano sack Frimpong Manso – Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Bofoakwa Tano has parted ways with their head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso and his assistant.

Bofoakwa Tano sacked their coach Stephen Frimpong Manso following their goalless draw with Nsoatreman FC at the Suyani Coronation Park on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

In a press release, the newly promoted GPL side asserted that the decision to expel Frimpong Manso and his assistant, Mr. Isaac Kofi Sarfo was in the best interest of the football club.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both coaches for their valuable contribution and dedication to our club. We wish them the very best in their future endeavors,” part of the statement released by the club read.

“We thank our teeming Fans for their continues support and we look forward to exciting times ahead,” the press statement added.

Meanwhile, Stephen Frimpong Manso becomes the third coach to lose his job with just eleven games into the 2023–24 season.

This move comes after Nsoatreman FC’s coach, Maxwell Konadu, was attacked by Bofoakwa Tano supporters after a Ghana Premier League match last Sunday at Sunyani Coronation Park.

Nsoatreman FC made this revelation on Sunday, November 19, 2023, via their official X handle.

The football team announced that their coach had been attacked, “for picking up a point in a draw game against the home team Bofoakwa Tano.”

Week 11 of the Ghana Premier League saw an intense match that ended in a goalless draw. This move propelled Nsoatreman to second place in the league table, above Bofoakwa Tano, who had an excellent start to the 2023–2024 campaign.

In a disturbing development, Sunyani fans’ hostility wasn’t limited to Konadu, a former assistant coach for the Black Stars.

Following this, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) banned Bofoakwa Tano temporarily from using Sunyani Coronation Park as their home venue.

In accordance with Article 14(3) of the Premier League Regulations, the Competitions Department were directed to choose a different location for Bofoakwa Tano FC’s upcoming home games.
