The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has added his two cents on the 24-hour economy policy proposed by NDC flagbearer, John Mahama.
Speaking at a gathering, Asiedu Nketiah asserted that the 24-hour economy policy will be the game changer for Ghanaians.
According to him, this policy will ensure that all Ghanaians get access to 24-hour electricity at a low discount in order speed up productivity.

Meanwhile, John Dramini Mahama, recently reacted to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s assertions that the 24-hour economy is already in place.
John Mahama claims that some businesses that are open around-the-clock do not revoke a policy that offers incentives to those who choose to enroll.
According to Mr. Mahama, this policy will deal with the urgent problem of young Ghanaians traveling dangerously across the Mediterranean and Sahara in search of better opportunities in Europe.
However, detractors such as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia argue that the policy is unclear and that Mr. Mahama is misleading Ghanaians about it.
In response, the former president addressed the matter in an interaction with St. Joseph’s College of Education students in Bechem as the ‘Building Ghana Tour’ got underway in the Ahafo Region.
He stated that interested institutions can voluntarily join the initiative.
“It is not by force. When we come, we’ll open it. The initiative is available, any company that wants to work a shift system and work more than the eight hours that they normally work from eight o’clock to five o’clock, they will sign on. We will give them tax incentives because if you work the extra shift, you will be given tax breaks. Aside from that, you’ll be provided with security and everything that you need to be able to employ more people,” he said.
