During a live stream chat with her fans, renowned Ghanaian actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown recently discussed how she handled criticism and public pressure on social media.

In response to a question about how she handles public criticism, McBrown said she has the mental toughness to handle hate on social media.

Her strategy is to welcome positive feedback while disregarding negative ones, highlighting the significance of differentiating between well-informed criticism and unfounded beliefs.

“If you are someone who cannot read and sees it as rubbish or something sensible, then you will be depressed. You must see the difference. Here, everybody speaks their mind; everybody sees their opinion as facts,” she explained.

McBrown emphasized the difficulties in coping with trolls and critics on social media and the need of self-awareness in preventing the negative consequences of online negativity.

Sometimes you may not be in a good mood, but they don’t care and still criticize you. You can’t explain it to everybody. You can’t always reply to that person who insulted you. So know yourself. If the person isn’t bringing anything positive to your life, ignore it.”

The frank observations of Nana Ama McBrown highlight the difficulties public figures encounter when responding to internet criticism and emphasize how crucial it is to put one’s mental health first despite the difficulties of navigating the digital world.

Her remarks are in line with the growing chorus of public figures, such as Funny Face and Kuami Eugene, who are calling for greater awareness of the difficulties with mental health that celebrities face.

Meanwhile, in addition to being a boxer, Bukom Banku also goes by the moniker “Idris Elba of Bukom” since, in his words, ladies swoon over him and ogle him.

The Ghanaian boxer, whose real name is Braimah Isaac Kamoko, is presently dating his cousin and has divorced three of his five wives.

The reports were verified by Bukom Banku to Akua Sonto, the sit-in host of Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra 100.5 FM.
