    Nsoatreman FC’s coach, Maxwell Konadu, was attacked by Bofoakwa Tano supporters after a Ghana Premier League match last Sunday at Sunyani Coronation Park.

    Nsoatreman FC made this revelation on Sunday, November 19, 2023, via their official X handle.

    The football team announced that their coach had been attacked, “for picking up a point in a draw game against the home team Bofoakwa Tano.”

    Week 11 of the Ghana Premier League saw an intense match that ended in a goalless draw. This move propelled Nsoatreman to second place in the league table, above Bofoakwa Tano, who had an excellent start to the 2023–2024 campaign.

    In a disturbing development, Sunyani fans’ hostility wasn’t limited to Konadu, a former assistant coach for the Black Stars.

    In a latest development, the Ghana Police Service has issued an official press statement on a manhunt for two suspects who allegedly manhandled Nsoatreman coach.

    The press release reads;

    POLICE ON MANHUNT FOR SUSPECTS WHO ATTACKED A FOOTBALL COACH IN SUNYANI

    The Police are on a manhunt for two persons who attacked the coach of Nsoatreman FC, Mr. Maxwell Konadu, during a football game, yesterday, 19th November 2023, at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

    The coach who sustained a head injury during the attack is currently receiving medical attention.

    We wish to assure the public that we will surely get the suspects arrested to face justice.

    Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association has not yet released a statement on the attack on Maxwell Konadu and the referees, so the football community is still waiting for an official statement to address this alarming incident.

    However, According to PRO of Nsoatreman, Maxwell Konadu is yet to regain conscious after the attack.

    “Maxwell Konadu is yet to be back from being unconscious. He got to the hospital unconscious & back conscious in 2 hours time, but unfortunately went back around 10pm & still yet to be back active. He’s still at the hospital”
