Maxwell Konadu, former assistant coach of the Black Stars and current head coach of Nsoatreman FC, was attacked by Bofoakwa Tano supporters at the Sunyani Coronationa Park on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

Nsoatreman FC made this revelation on Sunday, November 19, 2023, via their official X handle.

The football team announced that their coach had been attacked, “for picking up a point in a draw game against the home team Bofoakwa Tano.”

In the now-viral video, which was discovered by InsightNewsgh.com, the home team’s disgruntled supporters, known as Bofoakwa Tan supporters, stormed the field after the game and violently attacked the former Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach.

As a result, Maxwell Konadu lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital right away to receive medical attention.

Week 11 of the Ghana Premier League saw an intense match that ended in a goalless draw. This move propelled Nsoatreman to second place in the league table, above Bofoakwa Tano, who had an excellent start to the 2023–2024 campaign.

In a disturbing development, Sunyani fans’ hostility wasn’t limited to Konadu, a former assistant coach for the Black Stars.

The Ghana Football Association has not yet released a statement on the attack on Maxwell Konadu and the referees, so the football community is still waiting for an official statement to address this alarming incident.
