Hopeson Adorye, a member of Alan Kyeremanten‘s campaign team, has dismissed his firing from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) with a laugh.
He predicted that the former minister of trade and industry would win the general elections in 2024 and that the dismissal would have no bearing.
According to Mr. Hopeson Adorye, the dismissal will motivate him to put in extra effort to guarantee Kyerematen’s victory in the 2024 presidential contest.
“…This is a waste of time for a general secretary to issue this kind of letter, everybody is aware that once you support a different candidate apart from the party’s candidate, you forfeit your membership,” he said.
“So when you forfeit your membership, what is the use for you to come and write and put it out, I don’t think it is worth it.
“I know where this orchestration is coming from. I am their headache. This will encourage me more. I am going to work hard to make sure Alan Kyerematen becomes the next president of Ghana,” Adorye added.
Adorye and three other members of the group were expelled from the party for openly supporting a candidate other than the one the party had legitimately elected to the presidency in 2024.
Former Madina MP Boniface Abubakar Saddique, former communications director Yaw Buaben Asamoa, and former general secretary Nana Ohene Ntow are the other members impacted.
The NPP’s general secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, issued a statement on Monday stating that the party’s constitution was broken by their actions.
In other news, speaking about the status of the Ghanaian economy, John Dramani Mahama emphasized the importance of voters casting ballots for change in 2024.
On Sunday, November 19, 2023, the former president spoke to members of the Apostolic Continuation Church at Techiman while on his “Building Ghana Tour” through the Bono East Region.
He acknowledged that many people were suffering from unimaginable hardship, but he insisted that in order to alter the course of the economy after 2024, voters must choose a leader.
