National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has fumed over Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta’s victory welcome after presenting the 2024 budget in parliament on Wednesday.

After reading the 2024 Budget, some Finance Ministry employees formed a line to cheer and welcome the Finance Minister back to the office.

The Minister introduced his 2024 budget to the legislature on Wednesday, sparking numerous discussions between the majority and minority parties.

When the minister arrived at the office on Wednesday after the presentation in Parliament, some of his staff erupted in applause.

In the previously mentioned video, staff members can be heard cheering as a motorcade leads Mr. Ofori-Atta’s vehicles it pulls into the Ministry from Parliament.

Reacting to this, Sammy Gyamfi has criticized the Finance Minister describing the actions as shameful and unnecessary.

According to the NDC Communications Officer, the 2024 budget presented by Ken Ofori-Atta doesn’t bring hope to Ghanaians but has even increased their sufferings.

Sammy Gyamfi asserted that Ghana’s biggest problem is unemployment, however, the 2024 budget read by the Finance Minister did not provide any solution in dealing with joblessness in the country among the youth.

He added that, in times that people are dying and the daily struggles of the ordinary Ghanaian to make ends means in the country doesn’t call for shading and jubilation over your opponent but for political leaders to show austerity and modesty.
