    State funeral for the late former First Lady Theresa Kufuor today

    Former First Lady Theresa Kufuor will have a state funeral today, November 16, 2023, in the State House forecourt.

    The ceremony starts at 7 a.m. with a file past, and at 9 a.m. there is a burial mass.

    Surrounded by her family, the former First Lady passed away on Sunday, October 1 at the age of 87 in her Peduase home.

    On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Christ the King Catholic Church in Cantonments, Accra, celebrated a Requiem Mass in her honor.

    Attendees included prominent figures, legislators, New Patriotic Party members, and the late former first lady’s family and friends.

    Theresa Kufuor was the first lady of Ghana from 2001 to 2009 after being married to former president John Kufuor in 1962.

    On Saturday, November 18, the former First Lady’s last funeral rites will be held at Heroes Park in Kumasi.

    In a related news, on Monday, Gertrude Quashigah, the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), passed away at the age of 63. On Sunday, November 12, 2023, she passed away.

    In addition to being a well-known figure in the hospitality industry, Mrs. Quashigah made a substantial impact on the food sector in Ghana while serving as CEO of Ambar Quality Foods Limited.

    Her knowledge and commitment were well known, as evidenced by her appearances on numerous media platforms to express her opinions.

    Gertrude Quashigah, who was born on February 1, 1960, in Dzelukope, Keta, in the Volta Region, had a solid educational foundation.

    After completing her studies at Keta Secondary Senior High School, she decided to continue her education in the field of her choice.
