According to President Nana Akufo-Addo, the government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the former president John Dramani Mahama failed to deliver on its mandate.
President Nana Akufo-Addo said he believes that the NDC flagbearer won’t do anything better if voted into power in 2024.
The President urged the electorates against falling for what he describes ‘deception’ from John Mahama and the NDC.
“We going to the polls again, the one who couldn’t perform has returned as a change person seeking for votes, who does that. You were given the mandate but you couldn’t, you are only trying to deceive us. Will you agree to vote for him, we don’t do that,” President Nana Addo said.
The President charged the electorates to eschew tribal and religious difference and vote for the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his competence. He also campaign for a second term for the Member of Parliament for Bantaama, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye.
“The NPP has elevated Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to take my place as flagbearer, I am pleading with everyone not to disturb the party. In this country we don’t care about your tribe or religion, all that matters to us is an individual’s competence, truthfulness and hard work, these are the factors we consider to vote. It will hurt me for Bantama to throw Asenso out of parliament,” he said.
On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, President Akufo-Addo officially opened a brand-new library and technology center in the Bantama suburb of Ahenbronum.
The building bears the President’s name in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education in the nation since he assumed office in 2017. Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Minister for Works and Housing and Member of Parliament for Bantama, constructed the structure.
During his speech, Mr. Asenso-Boakye praised the president for his significant contributions to education and outlined his numerous development initiatives in Bantama, such as the construction of police stations, roads, and artificial turf fields.
