Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton MBE HonFRE (born 7 January 1985) is a British racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport. He is a seven-time Formula One World Champion, tied with Michael Schumacher for the most championships of all time. Hamilton holds the record for the most wins, pole positions, and podium finishes in Formula One.
Hamilton was also born to parents Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England. He also began karting at the age of eight and quickly rose through the ranks, winning several championships. He moved into Formula Renault in 2007 and won the championship in his rookie season. The following year, he also moved into Formula Three Euroseries and again won the championship in his rookie season.
