Karl Tremblay is a Canadian singer-songwriter, best known as the lead singer of the Quebec folk-rock band Les Cowboys Fringants. He was born in Montreal, Quebec on October 28, 1976.
Tremblay began his musical career in the early 1990s, playing in various bands around Montreal. In 1994, he met Jean-François Pauzé, and the two formed Les Cowboys Fringants. The band quickly gained popularity in Quebec, and they released their debut album, 12 grandes chansons, in 1996.
Les Cowboys Fringants became one of the most successful bands in Quebec history, releasing 11 studio albums and selling over 3 million records. Tremblay’s songwriting was a major factor in the band’s success, and his songs often dealt with themes of social justice, environmentalism, and personal struggles.
Life
